Fantasy football 2024 rankings, draft prep: QB, RB, WR, TE picks, cheat sheets, ADP, tiers, by NFL model (2024)

Building successful 2024 Fantasy football lineups requires an in-depth 2024 Fantasy football strategy. Many managers avoid players on the worst teams in the league, but this can be a common pitfall that holds you back from having success. Struggling teams often have players who rack up points due to a high usage rate. Bears wide receiver DJ Moore was an example of this last season, finishing as the WR6 on a team that went 7-10 and missed the playoffs. Chicago is in a different situation this season, as quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to be one of the 2024 Fantasy football breakouts. Moore got an upgrade at quarterback, but he is also competing with Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze for targets and could move down the 2024 Fantasy football rankings. If you're looking for 2024 Fantasy football advice, be sure to check out the 2024 Fantasy football cheat sheets from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Last year, the model accurately predicted that Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle would fail to live up to his Fantasy football ADP. Waddle's 2023 Fantasy football ADP was 34.86 overall and he was the 11th receiver off the board on average. He'd go on to notch a 1,000-yard season but only had 72 receptions with four touchdowns and he'd finish as the No. 34 Fantasy football wide receiver in CBS Sports PPR leagues.

The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, identifying A.J. Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and nailing Jonathan Taylor's monstrous season in 2021. Additionally, it's called past Fantasy football sleepers like Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.

The model is powered by the same people who generated projections for all three major Fantasy sites, and it beat human experts last season when there was a big difference in ranking. The 2024 Fantasy football PPR rankings and 2024 Fantasy football standard projections update multiple times daily, so you're always getting the best Fantasy football advice and the latest Fantasy football tiers.

Top 2024 Fantasy football QB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football QB picks:

1. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Hurts would be the first to tell you that he wasn't happy with his 2024 season, but the productivity was still there for Fantasy owners. He threw for 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns (both career-highs) but did even more damage on the ground, serving as Philadelphia's primary goal-line ball carrier and rushing for 605 yards and 15 touchdowns. He should continue in that role and the Eagles are hoping he'll cut down on turnovers to put together even better numbers in 2024.

2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: It's understandable that there would be some concern with Stefon Diggs no longer on the roster but this was always a team built around Allen's tremendous skillset. The fact that Keon Coleman appears to be quickly building a rapport helps ease those concerns. However, the reality is that Allen is still the same dude who has been QB1, QB1, QB2 and QB1 the last four years.

3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: Jackson is now a two-time NFL MVP after completing 67.2% of his passes and 3,678 yards (both career-highs) while also throwing for 24 touchdowns with only seven interceptions. He also rushed for 821 yards and five touchdowns, and now he should benefit from having Derrick Henry join him in the backfield to draw attention away.See more top QBs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football RB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football RB picks:

1. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers: McCaffrey finished as the Fantasy RB1 last season, averaging 21.2 touches and 126.5 total yards per game. He ranked second in carries, fourth in targets and first in red-zone touches among running backs. An injury is the only legitimate concern for his managers in 2024, as he seemingly remains in the prime of his career.

2. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: The 27-year-old played at least 70% of the snaps in 11 of his 14 games with the Giants, ranking second in opportunity share. He is in a much better situation in Philadelphia, where he should take some touchdowns away from quarterback Jalen Hurts. Barkley's Fantasy ceiling has been limited by New York's struggles, so his managers should get to realize his full potential this season.

3. Breece Hall, New York Jets: Hall checked in as the RB6 in Fantasy points per game last season, despite recovering from a major knee injury. He finished with 1,585 total yards on 299 touches, averaging 20.2 touches and 102.5 total yards from Weeks 5-18. Hall is going to remain a pivotal part of the offense this season, and Aaron Rodgers' return could give him a boost as a receiving threat out of the backfield.See more top RBs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football WR rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football WR picks:

1. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: The 25-year-old has steadily improved each season of his professional career, racking up 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. Lamb finished as the WR1 in Fantasy points per game, and he closed the season by surpassing 100 receiving yards in seven of his final 12 games. He ranked fourth in the league in target share and fifth in yards per route run.

2. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: Hill finished second overall at his position last season with nearly 300 Fantasy points, averaging just under 20 points per game. He had more than 1,700 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, leading the league in yards per route run (3.72). Hill is now 30 years old, but there have been no signs of regression to this point.

3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions: St. Brown completes the trifecta from last season, as he finished third among wide receivers with 16.5 Fantasy points per game. He finished with 1,371 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while commanding a 30% target share and 34% air yards share. St. Brown signed a massive contract extension this offseason, which made him the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time.See more top WRs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football TE rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football TE picks:

1. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: Kelce's "worst" Fantasy season in nearly a decade still ranked third-best among tight ends in 2023. Just like Patrick Mahomes, he was also hurt by a lack of WR threats on Kansas City last season. With that no longer the case, defenses won't be able to double team Kelce on every play as he should resume his role as the game's elite tight end.

2. Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens: This stat should indicate how much confidence Lamar Jackson has in the tight end: Andrews had a 133.5 passer rating when targeted last year, which was the highest in the NFL (min. 50 targets). Andrews ranked in the top five TEs in Fantasy points every year from 2019 to 2022 and only an injury prevented him from reaching that threshold in 2023.

3. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: The rookie blasted through any proverbial rookie wall last year as he got better as the year went on. Over LaPorta's last 10 games, including the playoffs, he had at least 65 yards or scored a touchdown in eight of those games. LaPorta has drawn comparisons to Rob Gronkowski and both had 10 TDs as rookies. An interesting stat to know is that Gronk then led the NFL with 17 TDs as a sophom*ore, so that could be LaPorta's Fantasy ceiling.See more top TEs here.
